Escuela Popular is a charter school that built several new buildings on a historic school site to consolidate their students to a single campus. The addition of the new classroom buildings also required several modifications and additions to the campus’ landscape including a new turf field and jogging track, expanded parking facilities, small informal outdoor gathering spaces, a student garden, relocating an existing play structure, and an amphitheater. The landscape design was specifically meant to respect and honor the site’s mature oak trees and allow the school community to embellish and adapt it in the future.
